Put and land after it: gp / gP: Put register a where the target shows it and finish with the cursor where the target's cursor is, using one put command.
Put with matching indent: ]p: The unnamed register holds a line with no indentation. Put it below the cursor line, indented to match, with ]p.
Several copies with a count: Make the copies shown in the target with one yank and one put with a count.
Paste while typing: Ctrl-r: Register a holds the text the target needs. Type the new text and drop register a into it with <C-r>a, without leaving Insert mode.
