Move between windows: <C-w>h j k l, w, p

Hop to a neighbour, jump to window N, and pop back to where you were.

3 drills

  1. Step in a direction: <C-w>h j k l: Move the cursor to the window named in the goal, using <C-w> with h, j, k or l.
  2. Jump to window N: {N}<C-w>w: Windows are numbered from the top-left to the bottom-right. Jump straight to the window named in the goal by typing its number before <C-w>w.
  3. There and back: <C-w>p: Copy the line under the cursor in the window named in the goal, then paste it below your cursor in the window you started in. Use <C-w>p to get back.
