Borrow one Normal command: <C-o>

Run a single Normal-mode command, then land right back in Insert mode.

2 drills

  1. Hop forward by words: Make both insertions in one Insert session. Type the first, hop to the second spot with <C-o> and a word motion, and type the second.
  2. Fill the blanks: Fill in both blanks in one Insert session. Hop to the second blank with <C-o> and the shortest motion that gets you there.
