Paste while typing: <C-r>{register}

Drop a yank, a deletion or a named register into the text without leaving Insert mode.

3 drills

  1. Reuse a yank: Yank the value from line 1, then finish line 2 with it using <C-r>0.
  2. Use a named register: Register a already holds the value you need. Finish the line with it, using <C-r>a.
  3. Keep the old name: Rename the word under the cursor (cw), then note the old name at the end of the line. The change saved the old word in the unnamed register, so <C-r>" can type it.
